OverGreenland Productions

OverGreenland Productions was founded in 2002 by me, Austyn Steelman following my graduation from the University of California at Santa Cruz. Since the conception of OverGreenland Productions, I have written, produced, shot, directed and edited seven short films and two music videos. My films cover a broad range of subjects from experimental short to comedy to personal documentary to documentary. I just finished my first feature length film Exposing Headshots: Hip Hop Below Zero, a hip hop documentary based on a Minneapolis production company called Rhymesayers Entertainment.

As a completely independent filmmaker I have always had to play many different roles in my productions. Because of this I have a well rounded knowledge of all aspects of filmmaking from the earliest stages of pre-production through the final stages of post. Although I enjoy all aspects of filmmaking my main focus is in editing. My ultimate goal is to be an editor for narrative and/or documentary feature films. I enjoy assisting directors in bringing their vision to life and have had the opportunity to do so on several independent projects. I would love to be the editor on your next film/video.

I have been working with Final Cut Pro for over six years and have watched it go from version 1.0 all the way through it's current version 5. While my main platform is FCP I also have experience editing in AVID, creating motion graphics in After Effects and Photoshop and producing DVD menus in DVD Studio Pro.

I am currently teaching a class on Final Cut Pro Advanced Editing and Finishing Techniques at The Academy of Art University in SF. My documentary Exposing Headshots has recently been released to the public and is now screening in film festivals worldwide.
